My daybook

For today...Monday, April 25, 2011
Outside my window... Rain, rain, & more rain.  We have terrible flooding going on here in KY.  So sad.  More rain coming tonight thru Wed.

I am thinking...that we are getting all this nonstop rain now & come summer we will be having to deal with drought's.  Ughhh.

I am thankful ... that my DH was able to dig up a trench in our backyard, so all this rain can go to the ditch, instead of my basement.

I am wearing... gray nylon pants & orange t-shirt.

I am planning... my youngest child's (Big O) First Communion party for Sunday.  This is such an important day for her walk in Catholic faith.

I am creating... a menu for Sunday.

I am going... nowhere tonight, too much rain coming down.  :(

I am reading... not much time to read right now.

I am hoping... my nephew who is still in Military Police training is doing o.k.  He was not allowed to come home for his grandma's funeral.  If he did, he would have to start all over in his training.  His Nanny would not have wanted that.  His graduation was so important to her.  Bless his heart.  Also hoping & praying that my daughters elbow is not broke.  She fell yesterday morning & the Children's hospital put it in a temporary cast until Wed.  There was too much swelling & they think there might be a break under the swelling.  Praying it is not broke.

From the learning rooms... homework for Big O.  Boys & J-bird don't have any homework cause of CATS testing.

Noticing that ... people all over are helping others during this terrible flooding we are going though.  Dear God, please keep everyone safe.

From the kitchen... tonight we went out to White Castle's.  Rest of the week, is being planned.

Around the house... need to start spring cleaning, just because & for Big O's 1st Communion party.  Also going to put a memorial for my mother in our cabinet in the living room.  DH is making us a memorial garden in our backyard.  She will be so pleased.

One of my favorite things... watching the birds play in the water, after a rain.

A few plans for the rest of the week... Tues:  work & home with the kids.  Wed:  work, then need to take J-Bird to her follow up appt. with the orthopedic doc.  Later kids have Religious Ed class.  Thurs:  work, BMX kid has baseball practice.  Fri:  Nothing planned yet.  Sat:  Spring cleaning all day & BMX Kid's baseball game.  Sun:  Big O's First Communion Mass & party.  Later Bubba has softball practice & BMX Kid has a baseball game.

From my picture journal... boat docks about 5 min. away from my house.  Good thing they have a flood wall.  Scary.  Where the trees & poles are, is the lower parking lot is underwater.  Side walk is almost to the playground.

Company Girl-Gone for awhile.

Good Friday everyone.  Hope you all are stopping through out your day to think about what today is all about.
Romans 5:6-8 "For while we were still weak, at the right time Christ died for the ungodly. For one will scarcely die for a righteous person—though perhaps for a good person one would dare even to die—but God shows his love for us in that while we were still sinners, Christ died for us."
I have not been around for awhile.  I have been taking care of my sick mother since March 12th.
My heart is hurting because on April 13th @ 12:20am, God decided to take her to heaven.  We now have a wonderful, beautiful, & the most caring angel watching over us.  Rest in Peace my beautiful mother.

“You can shed tears that she is gone,
or you can smile because she has lived.
You can close your eyes and pray that she'll come back,
or you can open your eyes and see all she's left.
Your heart can be empty because you can't see her,
or you can be full of the love you shared.
You can turn your back on tomorrow and live yesterday,
or you can be happy for tomorrow because of yesterday.
You can remember her only that she is gone,
or you can cherish her memory and let it live on.
You can cry and close your mind,
be empty and turn your back.
Or you can do what she'd want:
smile, open your eyes, love and go on.
”
