Random Dozen 4-28-10
4-28-10
1. Have you ever been so lost that you were really afraid? The only "lost" that I can remember being or feeling, was when my ex husband left me pregnant. He moved to another city with his girlfriend, while I stayed in our home with a 5 yr old, 1 yr old & pregnant. I was so lost at that time. But God lead me where I am today, which is such a happier place. :)2. Have you ever been to an island? Yes two. Bahama's & US Virgin Islands. I go to US VI usually once a year because my husband goes down there to work at the Cruzan Rum plant. He builds tanks for distilleries. My dream trip is Hawaii.
Pic below is my DH & I in VI back in Nov for Thanksgiving.
3. Are you more of a thinker or feeler? Wow, that is hard. I am a little of both. But if I had to choose, I would say I was a feeler. I go on my feelings day in & day out. This can be both good or bad, depending on the situation.4. Do you tend to see issues or situations in life as black and white or shades of gray?
Shades of Gray usually.
5. If you were stuck on an island, what book would you hope to have with you (Let's pretend the Bible is already there, so you can't say that.) Any of Debbie McComber's books. I love her stories.
6. What are you most afraid of? Talking in front of crowds. I am scared to death to get up in front of people. :( I am afraid I will sound stupid.
7. Would you rather lose all of your old memories or never be able to make new ones? Wow this is a hard one. After thinking for awhile, I would have to say I would rather never be able to make new ones. I love all my old memories & I hope that is one thing I never lose when I get older. My memories make me smile.
8. Pretend I'm looking at a scrapbook page about you. There are three spaces for you to drop in individual pictures. What are those pictures of, and why did you select them?
My kids. They are my heart & soul.
My mom & sister. My best friends.
My DH, he is my soul mate.
9. If you were re-doing your wedding, what would you do differently? (If you're single, tell me one thing you would do if you were planning a wedding OR huge party.) The one thing I would have done differently would have been to search more for the place we picked to get married. It was a little white chapel in Gatlingburg, TN. Very pretty but, very small. We later found this beautiful place when we were driving around, nestled in the woods. It was gorgeous.
10. Tell me one thing you know/believe about forgiveness. I know a lot about forgiveness. Like I said in questions #1. My ex left me for another woman, when I was pregnant with our 3rd child. I had to forgive him for what he did to me & our children, in order to move on with our lives. We get along now because of this forgiveness. I had to learn to forgive myself for my part in the break up of our marriage. It took me awhile to understand that I was part of the problem (even though I didn't realize this until the divorce). Things I could have done to be a better wife.
11. You're waiting in a doctor's office. What is your favorite way to pass that time? Reading blogs on my phone.
12. If there were a clone of you in a parallel universe what is one way you hope she/he would be the same as you and one way you hope she/he would be better? The same: organized. I am pretty organized with our lives. Better: Definetly more patience.
Wow, these questions really had me thinking this week. I do love the questions you picked. Brought back bad/good memories. Can't wait until next week.
Please go visit others that have answered this weeks questions at

Have a blessed day.

My Daybook 4-26-10
FOR TODAY: Monday April 26th
OUTSIDE MY WINDOW: The sun has risen and it is going to be a cloudy day, with some rain. We have had rain since Friday evening. And it will be here until tomorrow. Very windy today.
I AM THINKING: About the beautiful step my child J-Bird took in her Christian walk yesterday. She made her First Holy Communion.
I AM THANKFUL: That I was able to get my house in order over the weekend for J-Bird's party. It was a huge hit, even with all the rain we had.
I AM WEARING: Black yoga pants, brown shirt, & my warm robe & slippers.
I AM REMEMBERING: All the fun we had yesterday with some of our family. It was so nice to see some of my family, that I haven't seen since Christmas.
I AM GOING: Taking girls to school & picking them up later. That is the only place I am going today. :) My son was suppose to have a baseball game today but, we have more rain in the forcast later today.
I AM CURRENTLY READING: Debbie McComber's Cedar Cove Series. I love her books.
I AM HOPING: That I will get the mounds of laundry caught up today. Because of all the spring cleaning we did Friday & Saturday, the laundry was neglected.
ON MY MIND: All of the people that have lost their family members/homes in the recent tornados that came across some of the states, this past weekend. They are in my prayers.
NOTICING THAT: My body is not as young as it once was. It is hurting after all the cleaning we did over the weekend. I need to get in shape, that is for sure.
PONDERING THESE WORDS:
"Love is patient, love is kind. It does not envy, it does not boast, it is not proud. It is not rude, it is not self-seeking, it is not easily angered, it keeps no record of wrongs. Love does not delight in evil but rejoices with the truth. It always protects, always trusts, always hopes, always perseveres. Love never fails."
FROM THE KITCHEN: Getting ready to get the girls some breakfast & make their lunches for school. For dinner, grilled chicken of some kind, & veggies.
AROUND THE HOUSE: Just mounds of laundry. :(
ONE OF MY FAVORITE THINGS: Listening to our choir sing the praises of Our Lord, during Mass. Beautiful voices.

Random Dozen 4-21-10
4-21-10
2. Do you have a special organizational plan and place for wrapping paper, gift bags, etc., or do you just purchase whatever you need as you give gifts? I save all the gift bags (if my kids don't tear them apart) and I am actually getting ready to purchase a box of assorted greeting cardS, so I don't have to take off to the store at the last minute.
3. Have you ever been in (first-hand witness) a natural disaster? Yes, last year we had a wind storm & later an ice storm. Both were declared natural disasters by the govenment. We were effected only by losing power on both storms. The wind storm we were out of power for 3 days. The ice storm, we were out for 7 days. Thank God my DH was able to get a generator because it was also the coldest temps for that winter. We hooked our elderly neighbors into our generator & let them borrow our 2 space heaters. My mom, sister, & brother in law all stayed with us. It was a lonnnng week, but we survived. :)
4. What's your favorite Barry Manilow song? "Mandy", of course.
5. What's the best costume you've ever worn? Cat. I am not very creative!!!
6. Which do you use more often, the dictionary or the thesaurus? Thesaurus.
7. What's your favorite breakfast food? Broc/Spinch quiche. Yummy!!!
8. Have you ever purchased anything from an infomercial? Yes, yogo bootie ballet exercise program & I love it. I still use it. Time to get the updated version though.
9. Have you ever crawled through a window? Yes when I was sneaking back in my room, after sneaking out, when I was a teen. Mom caught me & said, "you know the front door was still unlocked, don't you?" She just gave me a look, that told me never to do that again. I didn't go anywhere, but to meet my friend by our tree, to talk.
10. Do you believe in love at first sight? Yes I do. I feel in love with my DH the momment I laid eyes on him.
11. How man pairs of jeans do you own? Well considering my sister just gave me a bunch. I have about 15 pairs. But, I really only wear about 5 of the pairs.
12. If someone were going to bake a cake to honor/represent you, what would it be? (Think creatively, like Duff and Crew on "Ace of Cakes.") Baseball & Softball. This is all I seem to be doing right now. Watching my kids play and I love it.

I AM THANKFUL: For all the beauty that God has surrounded my family & I with.
I AM WEARING: PJ's still. Getting ready to change into my cleaning clothes, for a long day of deep cleaning. Ughhh.
I AM REMEMBERING: How wonderful the weather was this weekend. Even with the heavy downpour of rain on Friday evening during J-Bird's game(we were soaked to the bone). However, Sat. & Sun. turned out beautiful.

PONDERING THESE WORDS: Come unto me, ye who are weary and overburdened, and I will give you rest.- Matthew 11:28
The words above, I will focus on this week, so I don't let the stress of this week, get the best of me. I will get everything done by Sat. evening.
FROM THE KITCHEN: Choc. chip muffins for breakfast for my beautiful girlie's, need to make their lunches for school. Lunch/Breakfast for me will be a slimfast shake & yogurt. Dinner, will be spag with meatballs, garlic bread, and salad.

Random Dozen 4-13-10
4-13-10
2. What is your favorite pizza? I love hamburger, bacon & onion on my pizza. I also love this new one that my coworker let me taste. Garlic alfredo sauce with 3 mixed cheesees & green/yellow/red peppers & diced onion. Oh my, it is soooo yummy. She brought this in one Friday during Lent. Love it. It would be great with grilled chicken on it too.
3. There are plans in the works to sell roughly 1,000 items from Star Trek: The Experience in Las Vegas. This means you could buy Picard's chair for your family room. If not a Star Trek item, what prop, background, set, etc. from what TV or movie would you buy if you could? [Ex: Hurley's "I Love my Shih tzu" shirt from LOST, the plantation home "Tara" from Gone With the Wind, or Tracy's tambourine from the Partridge Family.]
I guess I would have to say it would be "Tara" from Gone With The Wind. That is my dream home. Sorry I couldn't think of something of my own. Used your example.
4. Name a local food or restaurant that your area is famous for. Easy, Mike Lining's
5. What is your current favorite snack? Apples with Peanut Butter.
6. Hypothetical: You are required to be a reality show contestant. Which show would you choose based on your probability of success? (You cannot choose "none.")
A. Dancing with the Stars
B. Biggest Loser
C. Survivor
Wow this is a hard one. I guess it would be Biggest Loser. I lost about 25 lbs. when I was engaged to be married, all on my own. I need to get motivated again & start exercising/dieting again. Actually I started back this past Sunday with both.
7. On a scale of 1-10, with 1 being uninhabitable and 10 being cleanliness that meets the standards of OCD, how clean is your vehicle's interior? I would say mine is right in the middle, a 5. I don't have trash on over the place or food left in there. However, my carpets are stained with all the dirt from the kids shoes. Ughhh. Getting ready to clean the carpets soon.
8. It doesn't feel like Spring until I see the beautiful colors of the flowers & trees.
9. Something that made you laugh really hard recently is Sunday evening, my DH & I were being entertained by our daughters, that made up a new dance rountine.
10. Tell me about a goal you're working toward. Losing weight & getting healthy.
11. Share a thought-provoking or inspiring quote this week. "I can do all things through Christ."
12. Name one thing that you do as a parent that you absolutely know will make your kids happy. If you're not a parent, feel free to substitute "friend" or nomenclature that works for you. Sitting outside with them, while they play or playing outside with them.

Random Dozen 4-10-10
It is really hard for me to post during the week so, I do my Ramdom Dozen over the weekend. Here they are. Enjoy.
1. Define a great relationship. I have several great relationship. My first is my relationship with God. I also have a great relationship with my hubby & kids, my parents, my sister, my friends & coworkers. A great relationship to me is a bond where two or more people have a special connections with each other with no strings attached. It's someone or something that is sooo important to you, that you just have to have it or them as part of your life daily. I couldn't imagine my life with out everyone I have listed in my life. I am so grateful for these relationships. Below are some pictures of my great relationships.
The 1st is one of my mom, sister, & I. Next is my dear hubby & I.
Next is my kids & I. Then me & all my favorite buds.
2. Why is it called a "drive-through" if you have to stop? (Real question: What was the last food/drink you purchased at a drive-through?) I am sad to say this, but today was the last time we bought food & drink at a drive thru. Two kids had McDonalds & Bubba & I had Burger King. I know, I know. Yucky.
3. As I type this, the Butler Bulldogs are getting ready to play in the NCAA championship game. Every Hoosier is hysterical about this except me. So in honor of the Bulldogs ... what is your favorite breed of dog? (I tried.) Wow, this is hard for me to choose. I love so many different breeds of dogs. We have a Dauschaund, so of course I love her. I also love Golden Retreviers, Shiz Zu's, Yorkie's, and Labs. See, I told you I love lots of dogs.
4. If you had to move to a state besides the one you currently live in, where would you move? TN. I think TN is so beautiful. I would especially love to live near Gatlingburg.
5. If you could change anything about the way you were raised, what would it be? Really, the only thing I would change was the fact that my dad was an alcholic. However, luckily for us, he never hurt us or my mom. But he did drink everynight. As far as how I was raised morally or religiously, I wouldn't change anything. My mom always got complienments about her children & she still does today. That makes her feel so wonderful as well, as it does for me.
6. Who's the funniest person you know? Hummm, that is a hard one. I guess it would have to be a my good friends husband, Donnie. He is just a funny & goofy guy all around.
7. Did you get enough sleep last night? No not at all. My DH came back home from TN. He has been working there during the week & coming home on the weekends. So I had to listen to his snoring last night. But, I am thankful that I have his snoring to listen to. :)
8. What's the first thing you thought about this morning? My coffee. Hee Hee.
9. Grilled or Fried? --HONESTLY. Honestly, I would have to admit, that I rather have fried. There I said it and I know, I am bad. I try really hard to choose grilled but, sometimes I do give into the fried that is screaming my name. :(
10. Are you afraid of the dark? No not at all. Well, I am, if I have just seen a scary movie or heard a scray story.
11.When you were a kid, what did you want to be when you grew up? A teacher. I would always sit under our big oak tree & play school with my friends. If my friends weren't available to play, then I played with my dolls.
12. If you had one word to describe yourself , what would you choose? Happy!!!
Please go visit http://2nd-cup-of-coffee.blogspot.com/ for more Ramdom Dozens. Have a wonderful weekend and GOD BLESS!!!

Company Girls & Caffeinated Randomness 4-9-10
4-9-10
Good Morning gals. Grab your caffeinated drink of choice. It is 6:57 am on Sat. so, I am still enjoying my quite time & my coffee. I am a day late posting this. Hubby had my laptop in TN with him and my internet has completely disappeared on my desktop. My nephew is going to come check out what I could have done to it. Lord only knows. :)
Anyway, this will be short & sweet, as not much went on this weekend. Actually more went on then normal because my kids were on their spring break. I was able to work less hours this week because of spring break. Thank God I have a wonderful & understanding boss. As long as my work is done, I am free to come & go, as I please. :)
Monday, the kids & I went to the park & I read while they ran around & played on the playground. I went in to work later on Monday. J-Bird also had practice in the evening.
Tuesday, I took the whole day off & the kids & I went to the zoo. We met one of my friends & her two girls there. I thought it was going to be packed by the way the parking lot looked like, but it wasn't too bad & we got to see everything without any problems. We had a wonderful time together. We came home, took a little nap, then went to J-Birds practice, again.
Wed., went into work early & got home around 1:30. It was raining so, the kids & I just took it easy for the rest of the day. We had some stroms later in the evening & I just love storms. Of course, as long as they don't hurt anything or anyone. I sleep so well, when it is raining.
Thursday, worked 8-1:00 again, then I had the rest of the day to myself. The kids went to spend the day/night at their dads. I enjoyed my evening to myself. Don't get me wrong, I love my kids & I love spending time with them, but I really needed that time to myself.
Friday, worked 8-1:00 again, then I came home & ran some errands. Friday is also when DH comes home from TN. He was working there again this week. J-Bird had a scrimage game, then we went to dinner afterwards. J-Birds team won.
Today is Sat. and it is opening day at our local ballpark. J-Birds team tied the whole game. They had to end because of time limit, but when these two teams meet again, they will finish todays game, then move on the the next scheduled game against each other. BMX kid also had a baseball game at 2:00. They won 11-3. Now BMX kid is racing tonight in the BMX bike races. I didn't go to the race, because I am not feeling too well.
Well gals, this is all the happenings of the week. It has been a pretty laid back spring break & I think my kids really had fun, even if they didn't get to go to a beach.
I hope everyone has a good week and please go visit other company girls at

My daybook 4-4-10
FOR TODAY: Monday, April 4, 2010.
OUTSIDE MY WINDOW: Still dark out, but the birds are singing their good morning song. So peaceful right now.
I AM THINKING: Of something fun that the kids & I can do, while they are on Spring Break this week.
I AM THANKFUL: For my DH working so hard to provide for his family. I love him dearly. :)
I AM WEARING: My "mom" shirt for my son's All Star baseball team (from last season), blue nylon pants, and my warm slippers. Need to change into work clothes later. :(
I AM GOING: To work later. Normally I am off on Mon. but, I am working 1/2 days all this week, so I can spend some quality time with the kiddos.
I AM CURRENTLY READING: The usual, my favorite blogs & my devontionals.
I AM HEARING: All is still quite in our house. I only hear the beautiful sounds of the birds singing.
I AM HOPING: That DH has a safe trip to TN today. He works there until Fri., then he is suppose to stay in town, until some piping is made, then he will go back. At least he will be home during the week, for at least a week or two. He build tanks for distillries.
ON MY MIND: My son. He seems to be really quite lately. I pray that whatever he is going through, he will open up to me. I am use to him acting REAL silly, all the time. He is however 12, so maybe he is just going through those teen years early and hopefully it is only going to last a little bit. He has his good & bad days. Thank God this is not daily with him. All I can do is let him know I am always here for him & PRAY FOR HIM!!!
NOTICING THAT: When we were trying to take some Easter pics of the kids yesterday, our bush was not blooming its pretty little pink flowers. However, when I went out there in the evening, all the pink flowers were blooming. So glad to see them out now. They are so pretty now, with the sun coming up. I JUST LOVE SPRING TIME!!!!
PONDERING THESE WORDS: "Wow I love seeing this church, packed like this." This is what our priest said during his homily. He also went on to say, "I just wish it was this packed, every Sunday." I am like him. I don't understand why some people only go to church on the Holidays. It makes no sense to me. Like my mom always says, "you can give one hour a week to Our Lord, for everything he gives you daily." Sooo true & that is what I tell my children when they groan, when they have to put the Sunday clothes on for Church. Really only one groans, anymore.
FROM THE KITCHEN: Not sure yet, but I better think of something. The kids will be waking up soon.
AROUND THE HOUSE: The kids need to open all the plastic eggs, from their hunt & get all the candy out. We also need to put up the winter clothing & get out the SPRING/SUMMER clothes. Yeah!!!
ONE OF MY FAVORITE THINGS: Listening to the birds in the morning & in the evening, when the sun is going down. Seems so peaceful.
FROM MY PICTURE JORNAL: I tried so hard to get a good pic of the kids yesterday. Not one good one of all 4 of them. :( So this will have to do.
My youngest was not happy to have her pic taken. So she decided to start crying. HAPPY EASTER!!
HOPE EVERYONE HAD A GLORIOUS EASTER WITH THEIR FAMILY/FRIENDS.

Random Dozen 4-3-10 (First Time)
4-3-10
Good Sat. morning everyone. I stumbled onto this blog & saw this cute "random dozen" post. So, I am going to play along. I know it was suppose to be done on Thurs, but I just found Linda @ http://2nd-cup-of-coffee.blogspot.com/
2. Chickens are notoriously nervous creatures. When you are nervous, what is the best way to calm down? I say a little prayer for God to guide me and I take lots of deep breaths.
3. People say, "April showers bring May flowers." Do you enjoy Spring rains? Ohhh how I love Spring rains. I love the smell after it rains. We are suppose to get a little "spring rain" today. Hopefully it comes before my J-Bird's batting practice & BMX kid's race tonight. Suppose to be a short rain.
4. When I was randomly flipping through TV channels this week, I saw a show in which tattoo parlor employees received tattoos of a co-worker's face on their bodies. I can't imagine having a portrait of a colleague tattooed on me. But if someone forced you to receive a portrait tattoo (face only) of anyone, who would it be? Why? It would most definetly be my co-poliet, Jesus. He is always there for me and he always will be. He died for our sins and frankly, he is just awesome.
5. Would you rather have a tattoo (any kind) or a nose ring? I can't stand the nose ring thing. I just don't understand it. I would do the tattoo.
6. Do you have any special plans for Easter? We are starting the morning off, letting the kids find their baskets. That bunny sure is mean, when hiding them. Hee Hee. Then we will get ready for church. After church we will go to my mother in laws for Easter lunch. I am sure we will take lots of pics. I love her landscape so, I will definetly get some pics. Haven't had a family pic since Christmas. After we leave, we will have my family over for dessert and more pics. My kids are going to go to their dads after that to spend Easter with him & his family. Same for my stepson. He will go to his mom's. All the kids will come back to us later that night.
7. Cadbury Eggs or Reese Eggs? Use to be Cadbury Eggs but, now the inside grosses me out, so it is Reese Eggs now.
8. What was the last thing/person you took a picture of? Hummm, I think it was this. J-Bird's new hair cut. She use to have long stringy hair with no style to it. She picked her own cut out. LOVE IT!!!!
9. What book are you reading now, or what was the last one? Debbie McComber's "50 Harbor Street". When I have time, of course.
10. What do you think is the most difficult task when it comes to Spring cleaning? Definetly cleaning the walls. My back kills me after doing them.
11. How many pairs of flip-flops do you own? Right now, just 3. I gave all my old ones away or threw them away. I need to purchase some new ones. The old ones were worn out or out dated.
12. Which color makes you happiest?
Soft or pale yellow. I have always wanted a room with pale yellow walls. Trying to talk my boss into letting me paint my office in this color. I told him it would make me an even happier person, then I already am. Hee Hee. I love this picture from Country Living. It just shouts "peaceful" to me.
This was fun. I am going to try and do this weekly. Please go visit Linda @
Have a blessed Easter weekend.
God Bless!!!

Company Girls 4-2-10.
4/2/10
Good morning gals. Grab your caffeinated beverage of choice & go see what everyone has been up too this week.We have had beautiful weather here in KY, all week. Today is going to be 80 degrees & sunny. Love it.
For once girls, I can actually say that I have had a good & relaxing week this week. Monday was normal homework night & dinner with the kids. Hubby is out of town working in TN. again this week.
Tues. Work then J-Bird has softball practice. She is looking better & better each practice.
Wed. I had to work a little later because we were doing quarterly inventory. It turned out to be a pretty good inventory so, I only worked 1-1/2 later, then I normally have too.
Thurs. work again. My daughters went & spent the day after school & night over at their nanny's. So, my Bubba & I got to have some alone time at dinner. We decided to go out to eat. It was so nice to just sit & talk with my 12 year old. I am so thankful he wants to spend that alone time with me. There are so many kids out there today, that don't have a relationship with their parents & that would just break my heart. I thank God daily for my wonderful children & hubby.
Now we are at "Good Friday". I am going to spend the day cleaning the house. Later when DH gets home from TN. We are meeting some friends at a local fish place. Yummy. We get to sit outside & eat & enjoy this beautiful weather with some beautiful friends. After dinner, I plan to attend church. I need to pondor on why Jesus died for us.
I REALLY HOPE EVERYONE HAS A GREAT WEEKEND & A BLESSED EASTER.
GOD BLESS!!!
