Lauri Daybook 3-29-10

FOR TODAY:  MONDAY, MARCH 29, 2010

OUTSIDE MY WINDOW:  The sun is starting to rise.  It is going to be mostly cloudy and cooler, but at least the rain has left.  The rest of the week, will be absolutly beautiful.

I AM THANKFUL FOR:  Having wonderful friends that are concerned with my health issues and are constantly praying for me.  I have the greatest friends.

I AM WEARING:  My PJ's, warm robe and my fuzzy slippers.  Need to get dress to take the girls to school though.

I AM REMEMBERING:  The reason behind Easter.  I am remembering all that Jesus gave up for us and our sins.

I AM GOING:  Take the girls to school, then to the store.  Other than that, no where until it is time to pick the girls back up from school.  I may go out to lunch with my mom today.  I will see what she has planned for the day.

I AM CURRENTLY READING:  My devontionals & favorite blogs.  No time for my books, right now.  :(

FROM THE LEARNING ROOM:  Monday's are the big homework day for us.  My kids try to get most of the homework that is assigned for the week, done on Monday's.  We have too much going on during the rest of the week, with practices, Religion class, & this is Holy Week, so we will be attending chruch Thur. & Fri.

I AM HOPING:  That DH has a safe trip back to TN today.  He will be back home Friday.  I don't like when he travels.  Miss him already. :(

NOTICING THAT:  There are some parents out there, that just don't realize the damage they are doing to their children, by not teaching them what is right/wrong in society.  So many kids have no respect or morals anymore and that just breaks my heart.  My girls had an episode with a girl down the street this weekend and this girl had said things that were very inapproiate for their ages.  So now my girls will no longer being playing with this child.  I have to look out for my children's well being.

PONDERING THESE WORDS:  "And there is such a thing as too much money and too much sun and too much of a good thing, but this world has only one thing that there can never be enough of: there is no such thing as too much love. And they may not etch it on memorial stone, but granite erodes and quiet people know it so we get up every day and we make the porridge and wash the underwear and pay the bills and tend to the hurting and we etch the love on the hearts, that which beats on without end and we pulse throughout the universe."  Ann Voskamp @ http://www.aholyexperience.com/

I AM HEARING:  Birds chirping and my girls playing barbies upstairs and I have the Morning Show on the TV.

FROM THE KITCHEN:  Breakfast is finished.  Lunch for me, not sure yet (kids eating at school).  Dinner; my son has requested smoked saugsage, real mashed potatoes, and broccoli.  Sounds good to me.

ONE OF MY FAVORITE THINGS:  Thunder Storms

A FEW PLANS FOR THE REST OF THE WEEK:  Homework tonight, J-Bird has practice Tues.  Wed. I have to work late (inventory)and the kids have Religion class.  And Friday, my hubby comes home for the weekend.  We are going to dye Easter eggs Fri. evening.  Hopefully I remember to take some pics.
I also have to catch up on laundry this week too.  We were gone most of the weekend, so it is backed up.  Ughhh.  Laundry is never ending here. :(

HERE IS A PICTURE FROM MY PICTURE JOURNAL:
My kiddos dying Easter eggs last year.

Company Girls & Caffeinated Randomness 3-26-10

Good morning ladies or I should say good afternoon now.  It is 11:30 here in KY.  Go grab your caffeinted drink of choice.  I have alrealy had my morning coffee, so I have switched over to sweet tea.  Yummy!!  Nothing goes better with a sunny day, like today, then sweet tea.  Except for maybe warmer weather & sipping it by the ocean or a pool with a book.  Hey, a girl can dream, right???

This week has been challenging again.  We had a few doc appts.  Monday, I worked 1/2 a day.  Didn't like that because I am usually off on Mon. and that is my BIG cleaning day.
I had my follow up with my urologist Tues.  He is doubling me up on my bladder stimulation medicine. :(  Whatever works!!
Wed. worked, Bubba's first softball practice, and religion class, and then a small meeting afterwards.
Thurs. Big O had her appt. with the ear specialist.  She has slight hearing loss in her left ear but, he feels it is from her sinus infection.  He said it is normal to lose some hearing with colds.  She also has a skin disorder in her ear drum.  This is causing excess skin to get mixed in with her ear wax.  Yuck, I know.  She now has to go back every 6 months to have her ears cleaned out.  Poor girl cried sooo hard when he was getting that out of her ears.  I felt so bad that I took her to Panera Bread for a blueberry bagel & OJ, before taking her to school.  I love being able to have alone time with her.  She was sooo excited but, then she wasn't happy to go to school.  :(
Now today is Friday and it is so beautiful outside.  I of course cannot enjoy it because I am home with Bubba, who is sick.  He sounds like he is going to cough a lung up, poor kid.  I am sure it is just allergies but, I guess I better make him an appt. too.

Some other good news, my DH will be on his way back home from TN today.  He is suppose to be home around 4:00.  I am sooo excited.  I have missed him this week.  He does have to leave again Mon. morning though.  :(  He has to do this job is TN for 4 more weeks.  Thank God it is close enough where he can come home every weekend.

Well, that is all the news I have for this week.  If you have sunshine today, I hope you get to enjoy it.  I am, when my DH gets home to stay with Bubba.

Everyone have a blessed week.  And please go visit other company girls at:  http://www.homesanctuary.com/rachelanne/2010/03/company-girl-coffee-326.html
and make sure you stop for Caffeinted Ramdomness at http://www.undergraceovercoffee.com/

Lauri Daybook 3-22-10

FOR TODAY:  Monday-March 21, 2009

OUTSIDE MY WINDOW:  It is dark & rainy, but the birds are chirping & loving this rain.
I AM THINKING:  Why did I volunteer to work later this afternoon?  I am usually off on Mon.  Oh well, at least I don't have to be there until 12:30.  :)
I AM THANKFUL FOR:  The love my DH & I have for one another & our children.
I AM WEARING:  Nylon pants, t-shirt, warm soft robe, & my slippers.  Have to get clean up later for my work day.
I AM REMEMBERING:  Our wonderful & peaceful walk in the park Sat.  The weather was soooo nice.  Will be glad when the trees have some pretty green leaves again.
I AM GOING:  Take the girls to school, then to work at 12:00.  Home by 4:30, then it's time to start the Mon. evening activites.  Monday's are always a little crazy with the kids getting back in the routine after the weekend and now DH is not home to help.  That is okay, we will handle it.
I AM CURRENTLY READING:  Daily devontionals & my favorite blogs.
I AM HOPING:  That the kids behave for me, while DH is working in TN this week.  I am sure they won't give me any problems because I have all angels.  :)
ON MY MIND:  That my DH has a safe trip this week.  He has to drive in a lot of rain.  Please keep his safety in your prayers.
NOTICING THAT:  People seem to be smiling more now that SPRING is amoung us.  Something about everything becoming new again, makes most people happy.
PONDERING THESE WORDS:  "Mommy, I wish I was a tiny baby agin."  This came from my 6 yr. old, Big O.  I told her she will always be my baby, no matter how old she is.  I was also holding her in my arms as a baby, when she said this.  Such a sweet girl!!!
FROM THE KITCHEN:  Getting ready to make breakfast for the girls and make their lunches.  Dinner, I think we may have tacos tonight.  Kids love taco night.
AROUND THE HOUSE:  I don't get to do my weekly cleaning today, so I guess I will have to rely on my Min. Maintanence every evening, to keep it clean around here.  Oh & lots of laundry, as usual.
ONE OF MY FAVORITE THINGS:  The smell of fresh cut flowers.
FROM MY PICTURE JOURNAL:
Big O (the child that wants to be a baby again).

  3. My dog finally quits hypbernating in the house & wants to take her naps in the warm sunshine, on the deck.

  4. Trees are starting to sprout new buds.

  5. All the beautiful girls & adorable boys in their Easter clothes on Easter Sunday.

  6. Gardens

  7. Our flowers bed becoming renew again.

  8. Walks in the park & thoughtout our neighborhood.

Company Girls 3-19-10 Blah, Blah,Blah

Ok, one of these weeks, I might be able to say, "grab your drink of choice & sit down, relax & read some postitive news about my week."  But sorry girls, not this week.  Again this week has been rather crazy.

My daughter's (Big O) ear infection has been really painful for her.  She is having to put 4 antibotic drops in her ears twice a day & wear cotten for at least an hour after she puts them in.  This is causing her to have trouble hearing.  She has failed two hearing test in her left ear.  One with school & one with her general doctor.  I now have to take her an ear specialist next Thurs.

My other daughter (J-bird) was at her dads last night, when she got the bright idea to have one of her friends pull her with her healy's on.  You know those wonderful shoes with a wheel on heal, thus the name healy's.  I never wanted her to have those shoes in the first place but, she wants to be like her older brother so, I her dad bought her some for Christmas, a couple of years ago.  Anyway, back to the story.  J-Bird trips over a rock & falls face forward, trying to stop herself with her hands.  I was still there because I had just dropped the kids off so, I went running to her, thinking the worse things.  I was so scared she broke something or worse, hit her head.  She actually calmed down & looked to be fine so, I went home.  Later when I went to pick the kids back up, she started crying again.  She wanted to go to the doctor.  Now I figured if my child, who is scared to death of doctors, is asking to go, then something must be wrong.  I took her to the immediate care center & they did an x-ray.  I couldn't believe it, nothing was wrong with her hip.  I thought for sure she dislocated her hip, in some way.  She did have blood in her urine & the doctor was a little concerned with her kidneys but, since the blood count was normal, she didn't feel it was necessary to go to the E.R.  We just need to follow up today with her pedrication.

So, I went to work this morning and she stayed home with my mother, until it was time for her appt.  They did another blood & urine check and everything was normal.  When she picked her up to look at her hip, J-Bird starting crying because of her arm.  She hadn't even mention her arm to me.  What was bad, was this was the same arm that she had broken her elbow when she was two.  So, we did another x-ray but, with the grace of God, it just showed a swollen bone on her elbow.  Man, I was soooo worried it was broken again.  She was just concerned that she wouldn't get to play softball.  So, I guess my little daredevil learn a lesson, the hard way.  That she should have never ever gotten those healy's in the first place!!!

Well girls, this a definetly been a exciting & costly weekend (with all the copays) and it is one I would like to forget, expect for the part where my J-Bird is OK!!!

Everyone have a lovely weekend and I hope you have sunshine where you are, like I do.  It is starting to set & it is so beautiful, coming through the window & shining on the cat.  Here are some pics of the kids in the sunshine, last Fall.

Pockets of sunshine on J-Bird, last fall @ a National Forest.

I love this pic of Big O.  She loves getting her pic taken.

BMX Kid, Bubba, J-Bird, & Big O.  This was made out of CD's.
All of these were taken at the National Forest we spent the day at.  Very beautiful place.  We are going back when it gets warmer so I can get some pictures with all the flowers and so they can go fishing.

God Bless & please go visit other Company Girls at:  http://www.homesanctuary.typepad.com/rachelanne/

Lauri's Daybook 3-15-10

FOR TODAY:  MARCH 15, 2010

OUTSIDE MY WINDOW:  It is still dark out but, I can hear the hustle & bustle of the business of the day ahead, from all the cars leaving for work or school.  Our cat is sitting outside on the window sill.  He loves being outside but, always comes back in to take his naps.

I AM THINKING:  Why is there so much hatred in this world?  I really don't like watching the news anymore because it is nothing but sad news.  I will try to focus on postitive things only today, starting with turning the news off, right now!!!!

I AM THINKFUL FOR:  The beauty I am starting to see all around me, with all the signs of spring popping up everywhere.  All the wonders around me are so peaceful.  God is great!!!

I AM WEARING:  Cleaning clothes, sweatpants and long sleeve t-shirt.  Need to clean today.

I AM REMEMBERING:  Memories of when I was a little girl.  Some of the things that my daughters were saying & doing, were reminding me of the things, I use to play.  Ex:  playing school, playing make believe, playing church, etc.  Great memories of my childhood.  :)

I AM GOING:  No where except to take/pick up girls from school.  Love the days, where I don't have anywhere to be.

CURRENTLY READING:  Debbie McComber's "50 Harbor St" and my devotionals.

I AM HOPING:  That my son who has been getting all A's & B's this school year, will be able to bring up his Math grade back up.  He is struggling with this term.  :(

ON MY MIND:  My youngest daughter.  She has failed a hearing test at school & at the doctor's office.  We take her to a ear specialist next week.  She has an infection in middle part of her ear drum.  Praying it is the infection that is causing her to fail her test.

NOTICING THAT:  I really need to get back on my diet and start my exercise program again.

PONDERING THESE WORDS:  "That which we elect to surround ourselves with becomes the museum of our soul and the archive of our experience." Thomas Jefferson

FROM THE KITCHEN:  Eggs & cereal for breakfast, sandwiches for lunch, and boneless BBQ chicken, some veggies, and kids favorite, mac n cheese, for dinner.  Strawberry cake for dessert, yummy!!!

AROUND THE HOUSE:  Cleaning, cleaning, cleaning, laundry, laundry, & laundry.  Blah, Blah, Blah!!!!

ONE OF MY FAVORITE THINGS:  Flowers popping up everywhere.  Spring is almost here.  Yeah!!!

FROM MY PICTURE JOURNAL:  Part of my DH beautiful handy work in the yard.  This was my Mother's Day/Anniversay gift from him, last year.  He does such good work.  This is Big O & J-Bird posing in front of it.  Such wonderful gifts from God.

Company Girls 3-12-10

Hello Ladies,
Please grab a cuppa Joe or your drink of choice, take a load off, and enjoy other Company Girls today.

I received a wonderful birthday present.  Last Thurs. was my 39th b-day.  I received a cake from work and a nice dinner from the family, at home.  My actual present was a weekend get a way with my DH.  We went to a small country town in IN. and it was soooo relaxing.  We stayed in a Marriott Residence Suites (courtesy of all his hotel points, from traveling with work).  It was a beautiful suite.  Check out some of the pics.

The lake is still frozen.  So peaceful.
Love the sun setting over the hills.

This week has been pretty hetic.  We started the week off Sunday evening with our oldest child (BMX Kid) breaking his growth plate, on his arm.  He is already going nuts and it has only been a 1/2 of week, that has gone by.  He has to wear a cast for 3 weeks, then he goes back for another x-ray.  If all is good with the healing, then 2 weeks later he will get to continue BMX racing & baseball.  He will only end up missing one race & one baseball game.  It is killing him that he cannot hardly do anything.  Poor kid.  Oh, he broke his arm, by doing tricks on his trick bike.

Sunday evening also ended with my middle daughter (J-Bird) knocking out my youngest daughter (Big O) already loose tooth.  You would have thought she killed her, the way Big O was acting.  Poor kid.  It was a lot of blood though.  Probably justed scared her & I am sure it did hurt.

Monday, I had to work.  I am usually off on Monday's but, someone needed that day off.  Homework later, then my daughter had her first softball practice.  The weather was so nice, at least.

Tuesday, well that is a different story.  I was off (good thing).  My daughter woke up saying her belly was hurting.  She wasn't showing any other symptons so, I sent her to school, after she started acting better, after breakfast.  However, it didn't stay that way.  When she got home from school, she was still complaining about her belly & now her eyes had that sick look.  She had her dinner but, later got sick in her room.  Needless to say, DH had to scrub the floor, while I tended to her & got the sheets in the washer.  She continued this until about 12:00am.  After that she had a sick-free night.  I slept on the coach, just in case (now my back is killing me) but, it was a quite night.  I went ahead and kept her home from school Wed.  She apparently just had a 12 hour bug.  She ate & kept it down, thank God.

Wed., Big O & I stayed home.  She didn't get sick anymore but, I could tell that she still wasn't feeling well.  However, by 11:00am, she was better because she was back to her normal sweet & playful self.  She stayed in the house & played barbies, school, & her DS.  I got to do more piles of laundry, oh boy!!!

Thurs, we were back to our normal routine, thank goodness.  I do not like when our routine is messed up during the week, makes for a lonnng week.  I did get to go out on a date with DH.  We went to see a "guy flick" this time instead of the normals "chick flicks", I drag him to see.  I didn't like the movie but he did.

Now we are finally here at Friday.  The last day of the work week for me.  Even though I had a short week, it still went by very slow.  Tonight is our parish fishfry and love sitting with my mother & her friends, enjoying fellowship.  I have known these ladies since I was a little girl.  I just love hearing the stories they tell DH about me as a little girl.  Sometimes I wish I could go back in time & relive my childhood.  Even though we didn't have a lot of money, we had a lot of love.  I have many wonderful childhood memories and I strive to make the best memories for my children, as well.

For the rest of the weekend, not much going on.  We are staying home & picking up around the house.  The only thing on the agenda is J-Bird has batting practice on Sat.  Sun is church and I am also going to sit down & catch up on my favorite blogs.  Maybe write another post, if I have some pondering thoughts to put down.

Everyone have a wonderful weekend & try to go visit some other Company Girls.  Time to refill my coffee.
God Bless You!!!

Lauri's Daybook 3-9-10

For Today:  Tues. 3-9-10

OUTSIDE MY WINDOW:  The sun has risen & it is a beautiful morning.  Starting to see signs of spring everywhere around me.  This past weekend, I actually saw some flowers popping out of the ground.  I just love spring.

I AM THINKING:  About how hard it will be for BXM Kid.  He broke his arm Sunday evening & has a cast for 3 weeks.  He can't play baseball or race in the BMX races for 5 weeks.  And that is if it heals in the next 3 weeks.  Please keep him in your prayers.

I AM THANFUL FOR:  The wonderful birthday present my husband gave me.  A relaxing weekend away with no kids.  Ohhh how I needed this time with DH.  I just love this man that God sent to me.

FROM THE KITCHEN: Pork chops, potatoes, mac n cheese, & veggie's. Also going to bake a strawberry cake with cream cheese frosting and some choc. chuck cookies.

I AM WEARING:  Nylon pants, white t-shirt, & my "bmx mom" sweatshirt.

I AM CREATING:  Not much, just a menu for the rest of the week.

I AM PRAYING:  For the Lord's healing power over BMX kid & me.

I AM GOING:  No where for awhile.  I have already been to drop the girls off to school, grocery, & breakfast with my sister at Cracker Barrel.  Later I have to pick the girls back up from school and that is it.  Home the rest of the day.

I AM READING:  Have already read my devotionals and now I am catching up on reading some of my favorite blogs.

I AM HOPING:  For a relaxing evening with my family tonight & the rest of the week.

I AM HEARING:  Just the tv & the humming of the laptop.  Oh & can't forget the wonderful sounds of the birds, singing in the sunlight.  They are happy spring is almost here too.

AROUND THE HOUSE:  Laundry, laundry, & more laundry.

ONE OF MY FAVORITE THINGS:  The smell of rain on a spring/summer day.

A FEW PLANS FOR THE REST OF THE WEEK:  Not a lot going on in the homefront, just some picking up around the house, kids homework, and finish laundry.  I think J-Bird will have another softball practice over the weekend.

PICTURE FROM MY PICTURE JOURNAL:
The sun setting at the National Forest that DH & I went too.  There was still snow in the forest.  Very peaceful!!!

GOD BLESS!!!
