For today...Tuesday, Feb. 22, 2011

Outside my window... it is still dark out.  Hearing the cars & buses going thru the neighborhood.  Rainy right now & it is going to be in the 40's.  I'll take that over the 20's any day.

I am thinking... that I can't talk to my son about sports.  He knows it all.  LOL.  :)

I am thankful ... that my children are healthy.  An old friend of mine had lost her child to cancer over 3 yrs ago.  She would be 9 now.  Her family just raised & donated 1 million dollars for our local children's hospital.  Congrats to them.

I am wearing... pajama pants, t-shirt, robe, socks & slippers.

I am planning... a week of too many things to do.

I am creating... a cleaner house.  Or getting ready too. Didn't get to this last week.

I am going... to work, store, then to the gym, while J-Bird has cheer practice.

I am reading... my favorite blogs.

I am hoping... all the chaos ends soon in Libya.  I am praying for the innocent people daily.

From the learning rooms... J-Bird has Math, Big O has a small story to write (1 paragraph), Bubba has a Math packet due, & BMX Kid has some studying in Math that needs to be done & Lang. Arts.

Noticing that ... I feel so much better after a good workout.

From the kitchen...  probably smoked sausage, mashed potatoes, & another veggie.  Something quick to fix...daughter has practice.

Around the house... nothing today, but cleaning dishes after dinner.  Not going to be home much today.

One of my favorite things... having my "me" time in the morning.

A few plans for the rest of the week... Today- work for me, then J-Bird has cheer practice, while BMX kid has baseball practice.  Going to the gym during her practice.  Wed.- My day off from work, J-Bird has a dentist appt.  Hopefully can get to the gym, then cleaning the house the rest of the day, until my hair appt. at 4:00.  Thurs- work & gym.  Fri.- work, J-Bird has another cheer practice, hopefully gym again.  Sat.- JBird has a competition for cheer.  BMX kid has a scrimmage game.  Not sure what we will do the rest of the day.  Sun- church, then later I am working the UofL game for daughters cheer fundraiser.  Rest of Sunday will be nothing but relaxing.  Woo wee, I am tired after reading all I have to do this week.  :)

From my picture journal... my nephew's professional pic he sent me the other day.  So proud of him, but can't wait to see him in May.

For today...Tuesday, Feb. 16, 2011
Outside my window... the sun has risen & we are going to have warm 50 degree temps today, with some rain later.  Loving this warmer weather, but I am sure it is just a teaser.

I am thinking... about how if I talk to my kids when I am aggravated at them, instead of speaking loudly or yelling at them...they respond to me so much better & life in general is so much smoother.

I am thankful ... my DH neck problem is getting better.  He hurt his neck almost 2 weeks ago & thought he was going to have to have it X-ray, but it is much better.  I still think he needs to see the doc though.

I am wearing... black yoga pants, white t-shirt & socks.

I am planning... hummmm, nothing right now.

I am creating... a cleaner house.  Or getting ready too.  :)

I am going... to the gym, after I drop the girls off to school, then the store.  Later Big O's Parent/Teacher Conference.

I am reading... my favorite blogs.

I am hoping... that my back feels better after a good workout this morning.

From the learning rooms... J-Bird & Big O need to study for spelling test for Friday.  Bubba has a current event due this week, along with Math work & BMX Kid has some Spanish studying to do.

Noticing that ... people are so much happier with warmer temps.  Everyone seemed so nice lately.

From the kitchen...  I think I am going to make meatloaf for dinner tonight.  I am off on Wed, and I love making nice big dinner for my family, we I can.  With that, mashed potatoes (of course) & probably green beans & rolls.

Around the house... need to do mounds of laundry, clean the house, & make dinner.

One of my favorite things... sitting outside on my deck on a warm morning, drinking my coffee, with just me, the laptop, & the birds.

A few plans for the rest of the week... P/T Conference today for Big O, another one tomorrow for J-Bird.  The gym the rest of the week (except for Fri.)  Working the concession stand at UofL game Friday night.  This is a fundraiser for J-Bird's cheerleading.  I can work lots of games, concerts, events, etc to earn money for her account with the cheer company.  It is a program that our city has here to help promote youth sports & help parents financially.  Sat...I think I am going to take my girls to see the Justin Bieber movie, then the gym, later the kids are going to their dads/stepson going to his moms.  DH & I will have a date night.  Sun...church, DH & I will probably go to the gym (kids still at their other parents), and later J-Bird has a 2 hr. competition practice.

From my picture journal... my Valentine's gift from kids & DH.  God has blessed me sooo much, with my wonderful family.  Sorry...pic was taken from my phone.  Doesn't do my beautiful flowers justice.  I received these at work on Friday.  He wanted me to enjoy them over the weekend.  They still look beautiful today.  Love them.

Well, I hope everyone has a wonderful rest of the week.  For more day book entries, please go visit, The Simple Woman's Daybook.

For Today...Tuesday, Feb. 8, 2011

Outside my window... it is still dark outside & we got a light coating of snow last night.  Just enough to be pretty & not make a mess of things or cause school to be out.

I am thinking... of the terrible news I heard on the news channel about a couple beating a 2 yr. old to death.  Why are so many kids getting hurt by people they are suppose to trust, now days?  What is wrong with our society?  It just breaks my heart, every time I hear about another child being abused physically or sexually, or worse...both.

I am thankful ... my home is filled with love for each other & that my children know their home is a place where they can trust their parents to never hurt them & to keep them safe.

I am wearing... pajama pants, shirt, robe, & warm sock with slippers.

I am planning... to make a menu of dinners for the rest of the month.  With so many activities going on with the kids, I need a plan for dinner already in place when I get home from work.

I am creating... dinner calendar for the month.

I am going... take the girls to school, later the gym, then to J-Bird's All-Star cheer practice.

I am reading... my favorite blogs & a book from Debbie McComber's Cedar Cove Series.

I am hoping... that J-Bird does better tonight at her practice.  She is a flyer on her team for the 1st time & last week she fell pretty hard & it took a lot of convincing to get her back up.  When she finally did, there was only 5 min. left of practice.

From the learning rooms... kids homework.

Noticing that ... a lot of red birds are were out this weekend.  They love this winter weather.  They look so pretty against the white snow.

From the kitchen... getting ready to make breakfast for the girls.  Make their lunches for school.  Dinner tonight...spaghetti w/ some Italian sausage pieces, garlic bread, salad, & applesauce for the ones that don't like salad.

Around the house... Need to get some laundry done & need to clean up around the house.

One of my favorite things... the sound of birds singing on a spring morning.  Oh how I am craving the cool morning, but warm afternoons.  Spring is my favorite season.  Time for rebirth.  :)

A few plans for the rest of the week... J-bird has practice last night.  She has practice again tonight.  Going to the gym every night except for Wed.  Kids have Religion class Wed night.  Thurs...nothing but work & gym.  Friday...work, then kids are doing their kick boxing class while hubby & I work out.  Sat, nothing planned as of now.  Sunday we are going to have Valentine's with our kids, after church.

From my picture journal...my nephew (his most recent pic), who left for Ft. Leonard Wood, MO Jan. 5th for basic training.  He does 9 weeks of basic, then 10 weeks of Military Police training.  I finally got a letter from him last week.  He is doing good, but says it is very hard.  I am so proud of his decision to join the US Army.  Love & miss him dearly.
