My Daybook

For today...Jan. 26th.

Outside my window...Snow is falling...again.  I can say I am truly sick of all the snow we keep getting.  They told us only a dusting & we know have 3" and schools are closed.  Poor kids will have no summer vacation because of all the snow days they have to make up.

I am thinking...more like trying to decide, if we are going to keep the girls 9:00am dentist appts.  They both have some work to be done on their teeth, so I really don't want to cancel.  On the other hand, transportation did not clear the roads & hubby said it was a mess out there.  Ughhh.  Update:  we went to the appt. & they both did well.  J-Bird has to go back again next Wed. for more fillings.  Oh boy.

I am thankful ... that my DH made it to work safely.  That our snow day fell on my scheduled day off.  Also thankful that if it didn't, I have a very understanding boss & he wouldn't expect me to try to come in, if I didn't feel comfortable driving.

I am wearing... black nylon pants, BMX t-shirt & fleece pull over.  It is a chilling 17 degrees in my neck of the woods.

I am planning... to get my house in order.

I am creating... nothing right now.  Just enjoying life & my family.

I am going... to take my girls to the dentist, then nothing else until the gym tonight.

I am reading... my favorite blogs & Debbie McComber's Cedar Cove series.

I am hoping...this yucky snow doesn't freeze over tonight & cause school to be closed again.

From the learning rooms...Nothing today.  No school.

Noticing that ...I am complaining about this snow a lot today.  Sorry, but this is not the way I wanted to spend my day off.  Now my hair appt. just got canceled.  Boooo.

From the kitchen...Fat free smoked sausage, mashed potatoes & either green beans or corn.

Around the house...need to get laundry folded & put away.  Need to straighten this house.

One of my favorite things...watching the kids have fun, playing in the snow.

A few plans for the rest of the week...going to the gym every day, straighten up around the house, get laundry finished & put away.  BXM kid has a race in Indianapolis IN., this weekend.

From my picture journal...Our snow fall this morning.  Pretty!!!

More Birthday's

I am really late posting about my son's birthday, but in my defense, we have all been sick since the 26th.  Bubba was sick from Sun-Thurs.  His fever actually broke on his birthday.  He was so worry he wouldn't be well for the big UofL/UK game.  He got to attend with his pawpaw.  Thank God, his wish was granted & he got better.
Thursday Dec. 30th was my first born's 13th birthday.  I cannot believe my baby boy is a teenager already.  Where ol where has this time gone.  Happy Birthday Bubba.  I love you with all my heart & I am sooo proud of you more & more everyday.

Bubba with his new sweatshirt.  Love the crazy hair.  He is sooo cute.

Next is my DH's birthday, which is today.  He is 38 & spending his birthday at his job.  He is away but will be home soon.  We got to celebrate his birthday, before he left with the kids.  Happy Birthday to the love of my life & I really wish we were together to celebrate.  Your are forever in my heart.
 My man!!!

Well, that is all of the birthdays for now, at least until March.  Then it will be my BIG 40th.  Oh nooooo.  :)

Everyone have a great evening.

God Bless.

Our Christmas & Dec Birthdays

Today on Dec. 28th, God blessed me with a bundle of joy that has been & will always be, a true blessing into my life.  My J-Bird was born 9 yrs old today at 12:28 p.m.  Yes she was born on 12/28 @ 12:28.  I was having a scheduled C-section & the doc noticed the time right before he pulled her out & decided it would be neat to wait one more minute, so she could be officially be born at 12:28.  Pretty neat, huh???  We though so.

 J-Bird at her party.

J-Bird with her new BMX racing bike.  I think she is going to try out racing, like her brother.

Now onto what we did for Christmas.  We usually have an extremely busy Christmas, but this year there was a lot of sickness going around in our extended families.  :(

Thurs. Christmas eve, eve...we had a wonderful spread of food at work, then J-bird had a Christmas party with her cheerleading team.

Christmas Eve...DH & I stayed around the house by ourselves, while BMX kid went to his grandpa's from his moms side of the family.  My other 3 kiddos, went to their great grandma's from their dads side of the family.  They all got home in time for us to go to Christmas Eve Mass with mother.  It was very crowded & hot, but it was a beautiful service.  I wanted to attend the midnight Mass, but Christmas day is such a long day, that the kids would have been worn out.  After Mass BMX kid went to his moms & my other 3 went to their dads.  DH hubby & I went home & got ready for Santa.

Kids before Christmas Eve Mass.

Christmas Day...kids opened presents from us, Santa, & my hubby's dad & stepmom.  They were sooo excited.  Later my parents, sister/her hubby/son came over for Christmas breakfast.  This is the one meal, that I don't have to cook.  My BIL does the cooking.  Woo hoo.  We opened gifts then sat around and played Xbox Kincet's.  Talk about a workout.  I am soooo out of shape & addicted to this game.  LOL.  Hoping if I play this daily I will lose some weight.

Big O & BMX kid received new bikes.

J-Bird & the kincet's.

Bubba & his new laptob.  Santa knew he needed one for school.  :)

We were suppose to go to DH's sisters for Christmas with her family & DH's mother, but they all had the flu over there, so we passed & stayed home.

The day after Christmas...my DH had to get on a plane to go here...St. Croix Virgin Islands.  He is working at the Cruzan Rum plant for a couple of weeks.  Yes, I am so very jealous.  :(

We (the kids & I) were suppose to go to his dads side (extended family) Christmas party this day.  However, I woke up with a stomach bug & later that day, two of the kids had fever's.   Another child of mine came down with a fever on Mon.  We are now just getting back to normal today.  Fever's have broke, thank the Lord.

Well, this is about all that I have on our Christmas.  It was a very blessed time, even though we didn't get to see all of our family.  I am truly blessed to have a wonderful family.

Going to spend the rest of the week with the kiddos.  My company is on Holiday shutdown.  Yay.  We have dentist appointments tomorrow, then bowling after wards.  J-Bird is going with her dad on Thurs to spend the day with him for her b-day.  Friday, we are going to a friends to have a Christmas/UofL-UK party.  University of Louisville playing against University of Kentucky, is a HUGE thing here, in our neck of the woods.  Later Fri. another friend & her kids are coming to spend New Year's eve with my kids & I.  Both our hubby's are in the Virgin Islands together.  New Year's Day...Bubba is spending the day with his dad cause his b-day is the 30th.  His dad promised J-Bird some alone shopping time, so Bubba has to wait til Sat.  Later Sat., Bubba is having a few boys spend the night for his b-day here.

I hope everyone had a wonderful Christmas & got to spend time with their family & friends.  Happy New Year's.

God Bless.

My Daybook-Late

FOR TODAY...Thurs. Dec. 16, 2010

Outside my window...snow, ice, cold, & all around mess.

I am thinking...I like having another day off, but don't like the make up work that will be waiting tomorrow.

I am thankful for...My DH making it home from his job earlier than expected.  So thankful he is home for Christmas.

From the learning rooms...Not much this week.  Last week before Holiday break and they are on their 2nd snow day of this week.

From the kitchen...Getting ready to make bacon, eggs, & biscuits.  We are all stuck in from the ice storm we got last night, so I might as well make a yummy breakfast.

I am wearing...sweatpants & long sleeve shirt.

I am creating...Nothing right now.  Just enjoying the simple things of life, like staying indoors with my family.

I am going...Nowhere.  Ice everywhere.

I am reading...Debbie McComber's Ceder Cove Series.

I am hoping...That everyone stays safe on the icy roads today.  I'm hoping I don't have to go into work later.

I am hearing...the news on the TV & some cars, trying to drive.

Around the house...Wrapping presents.

One of my favorite things...Being snow in with my family & playing games or watching movies together w/ hot chocolate.

A few plans for the rest of the week...Not much left, because it is Thursday.  Nothing today or tomorrow.  Sat. taking girls shopping, clean the house, and maybe a bday party later in the evening.  Sun. my J-Bird is having a "girls only" bday party.  Her bday is not until the 28th, but this is the only day we could do it.  15 girls...Fun, fun!!!

Here is picture for thought I am sharing...BMX kid-fell asleep watching a movie on his Ipod.  Still looks adorable, even at 13.  :)

Time Needs to Stand Still!!!

Just checking in to say "HI".  We have a lot going on right now, with the Christmas season & everyday life.

My DH took a day off yesterday, so he & I had could get almost all of the Christmas shopping finished.  Only have a few things left to purchase.  He heads out of town soon, on a job.  It will be hard to go through the month with Christmas cheer, without him here most of the time, but I will try my hardest, especially for my kids.  He will be home for Christmas though, thank God.  :)

J-Bird has been working hard with her routine for cheerleading competition, which is this Sat.  They had some problems Mon., with some girls not showing up & we found out they won't be competing on Sat.  But, all is going to work out, cause we have 4 girls to replace them & they already learned the routine.  Yay!!!

I'm hoping to blog more, after this week.  Hoping I get some cookies, candy, & bread made during the month.  I want to make some to give as gifts for some special people, in my life.  Hoping to get the rest of the decorations up (outside) tonight.  Need to get our Christmas pic printed & start mailing those out.  Lots to do this month.  The best thing is...I only work for  3 weeks & 1 day, until we are on shutdown & I will have 11 days off.  Woo hoo, can't wait.  Love being able to be off & home with the kids, during their Christmas break.  Planning on lots of family time, during that time off together.

Well, other then the above, not much else going on.  Hope everyone had a blessed Thanksgiving, as I did.  Love sharing the day with family.

Have a wonderful day & rest of the week.

Lauri's Daybook

FOR TODAY:  Monday, Nov. 21, 2010

Outside my window...the sun is starting to rise.  We are going to have a warm 75 degrees today.

I am thinking...of all the things I need to buy before Thurs.  I'm not in the holiday season this year.  :(

I am thankful for...my DH flying home Wed night, even though I have to pick him up at midnight.  Just thankful he will be in my arms soon.

From the learning rooms...kids only have two days at school this week, so I'm hoping no homework.

From the kitchen...getting ready to make breakfast for the girls, then need to make their lunches.  Dinner, boneless pork chops, bakes potatoes, & a veggie of some kind.

I am wearing...knit capri pants, Jimmy Johnson (Nascar) t-shirt, & my robe.

I am creating...my list of items to purchase for our Thanksgiving dinner we are having here on Friday.

I am going...to work, later to J-Bird's practice.

I am reading...my favorite blogs, for now.

I am hoping...that I eventually get in the holiday spirit.  DH is only home two weeks during the holidays, so my spirit is down this year.  Trying to get into the spirit for my kiddos.

I am hearing...the Early Show on TV & the clicking of the keyboard.

Around the house...need to do some cleaning before Thanksgiving.

One of my favorite things...having my family here for Thanksgiving.

A few plans for the rest of the week...today-work, dinner, then J-Bird has tumbling/competition practice.  Tues-work, store, dinner, cleaning the house.  Wed-same as Tues. except my DH flies home from the Virgin Islands. Thurs-Turkey Day, going to DH's side of the family for dinner, then we need to stop at his mother's later in the day.  Fri.-Thanksgiving dinner at my home with my side of the family.  Later we will put up our tree & all our decorations.  Sat-DH & I are going Christmas shopping.  Sun-church, then more shopping.

Here is picture for thought I am sharing...a pic that my DH sent to me during his lunch time at work.  I think he was trying to rub it in.  LOL.  That is one huge sandwich.

Company Girls, it's been awhile!!!

 11-11-10

Hey all you Company Girls.  It has seemed like forever, since I have done a "Company Girls" post.  Life has just being going non stop for us, since the beginning of summer.  We have been soooo busy with sports & everyday life.

My J-Bird is cheering & the league has just finished, but now we are in competition mode.  They have their first one tomorrow.  It is going to be rough.  We have had a problem with parents not bringing their girls to practice, so we haven't had a full practice until last Friday.  Why or why do parents sign their kids up for things & not stay committed to it, especially when you are told in the beginning how many practices there will be???  It just hurts the other girls, like my J-Bird, who shows up for every practice, ready to go.  :(

We have been fighting colds in our household since last week.  It started with J-Bird, then me.  I am still fighting it today.  Now my DH, Big O, & Bubba have it, as well.  Ughhh, I just wish our weather would stay either warm or cold & quit going back & forth.  Don't get wrong, I am loving the "Indian summer" we are having, but it is causing my cold.

On the good side of things, my two older kids (middle school) have finish their 2nd grading period of the school year, last Friday.  They both have done very well.  Bubba (7th gr.) got all A's & 1 B.  BMX kid (8th gr.) got A & B's & 1 C.  I'm very proud of both the boys.  Especially BMX kid.  He has been struggling with school this year.  Not motivated to do the work, so I am happy with only 1 C, this grading period.  I pray he keeps it up.  He will have to, cause he made his school baseball team & you are suspended if you get below C.  Congrats BMX Kid!!!

Well, now we need to get ready for Thanksgiving.  This is probably one of my favorite holidays.  I love the food & family around all day.  Being thankful for everyone that is in my life & thankful for the Lord & everything he has blessed me with.  My kids get to go to their first Thanksgiving this Sunday with their dad & his family.  They are sooo excited.  We have two to attend on the actual day.  My DH's dad's side of the family & his mothers house, later in the day.  We are having dinner the day after, here at our house (I'm cooking), for my side of the family.  It's going to be a long couple of days, but I can't wait.

O.K.  I think I have rambled enough now.  Hope to be able to read some of the other Company Girls post this weekend.  Everyone have a great & blessed weekend.

Please go visit Rachael Ann at Home Sanctuary today or this weekend.
